An empowering 2008

Insights, Inspirational Videos December 31st, 2007

Viewing in retrospect, year 2007 has been a happening year for me. Of course, along with the ups, there are also downs but I am glad that there are always friends, colleagues and my loved ones who stood by my side and cheer me on.

Have you ever believed in miracles? I choose to. And when I choose to, I enjoy a full time pay though working part time. I attract like-minded friends who come together into partnership. I enjoy deals that are easy on my pocket. I bump into the right people, at the right time and at the right place.

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” ~ Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

I have posted this video clip some months back but I think since today is the last day of the year, this empowering video is indeed a remarkable one to start afresh a brand new year. May you be empowered and may the experiences of your 2007 be the springboard to an awesome 2008! Wishing all of you a very wonderful New Year ahead! Happy 2008!

Dance like nobody is watching Part II

Inspirational Videos December 18th, 2007

After my post on Dance like nobody is watching, a like-minded blogger invited me to view his inspirational collection. It further reminded me that about 2 years back, I did come across a similar dance troupe, also known as China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe, where the dancers have certain extent of physical challenge.

All the dancers are outstanding but there is one particular team that literally took my breath away. This team is made up of 21 members who have hearing impairment. Yet, when they perform the ‘Thousand-hand Bodhisattva dance; their seamless coordination skills is beyond speech.

Metaphorically, this dance troupe taught me that whatever I am going through currently, someone out there is putting in many times more effort despite of their physical challenges.

All of us have some form of handicaps - physical or mental. Let the dance warm your soul and rekindle your spirit to continue moving towards your dreams.

Dance like nobody is watching

Inspirational Videos, Inspirational Stories December 11th, 2007

You have to see this to believe it - a unique dance team, Spencer, 25 and Barbara, 84; perform to Coldplay’s “The Hardest Part”. Though 84, Barbara is more agile, flexible and stronger than most 20-year-olds I know. I simply adore her.

WARNING: the video will take quite a while to load.

Attempted google search for more information over this unique dance team but quite limited details. Probably, because the video was done up in the 80’s.

PS: Would appreciate if anyone could post me the lyrics of “The Hardest Part” (if you have).

PPS: More details regarding this dance team is greatly appreciated. I am a fanatic in collecting inspirational stories and biography.

Visualizing Infinite Wealth

Inspirational Videos July 15th, 2007

Can’t remember which visualizing tools did I receive first - “An Empowering Day” or “The Secret Riches Visualization”. In any case, both tools are equally powerful.

Some gurus have feedback that “The Secret” misled a lot of people into becoming dreamers and not action takers.

Personally, I like “The Secret” and really appreciate the visualizing tools because I agree with Arnold Patent that we are by nature feeling beings. But because of the society that we are in, we created the illusion that we are ‘thinking beings’.

The visualizing tools are so powerful that they evoke my feelings each time I view them. By opening my feelings and allowing them to flow freely, I have allowed myself to tap onto the Infinite Intelligence (The Universe) to flow into my awareness.

Let your feelings flow as you enjoy the video.

Visualizing an Empowering Day

Inspirational Videos July 13th, 2007

Bought “The Secret” DVD and subscribed to its member site, I am very grateful and appreciated all these visualization tools provided by the founder, Rhonda Byrne.

In turn, I gathered the best way to express my gratitude is to share with all the rest (who would stumble onto this site).

Visualization tool for an empowering day!

Connie Talbot

Inspirational Videos June 19th, 2007

This little girl has such a wonderful gift of being able to sing so beautifully that I was moved to tears.

Connie Talbot is a six year old singer from Streetly, Walsall, England. She started singing aged 18 months.

She reached the grand final of television reality show Britian’s Got Talent, singing The Wizard of Oz’s SomeWhere Over The Rainbow, both during both the audition and final stages. “I will win Britain’s Got Talent in memory of my Nan”, she vowed. Connie had viewers in tears as she sang the song she learnt at her granny’s knee.

The lyrics is very simple but when sang by her, it is very heart warming. To me, Connie’s melodic voice has that impact on believing in myself to reach the other end of my rainbow.Let Connie’s soothing voice inspire you to reach your dreams.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There’s a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true

Some day I’ll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That’s where you’ll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can’t I?
Some day I’ll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That’s where you’ll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can’t I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can’t I?

Faith

Inspirational Videos June 13th, 2007

One of the speakers, Andrew Matthew from NAC 2007 mentioned about Faith, a dog with no front legs and walked like a human.

Curiousity got the better out of me, I explored youtube and found this video clip which I thought was inspiring and worth to be under my collections of inspirational videos.

For years and centuries, we have heard, read and documented man’s capabilities to overcome all odds. Now, even a dog (which we human tend to presume that animals are more inferior than us) has proved its superiority.

It dawned on me the word - IMPOSSIBLE could have all the while been mis-interpreted but actually meant I M POSSIBLE.

Free Hugs

Inspirational Videos June 10th, 2007

Free hugs is a real life controversial story of Juan Mann; a man whose sole mission is to reach out and hug a stranger to brighten up one’s life. The video was recorded in Sydney.

The music for the video is composed by Sick Puppies, an Australian band that Mann met. The lead singer of the band, Moore, who worked at the mall, shot the footage and later compiled into a video for the song.

In finding out that Mann’s grandmother had just passed away, he compiled his Free Hugs video footage into a get-well, spirit lifting offering. He combined the footage with his band’s song “All the Same” and sent the video to Mann just to make him feel better, much like Mann’s intention with his Free Hugs campaign.

As this symbol of human hope spread across the city, police and officials tried to bann the Free Hugs campaign because Mann had not obtained public liability insurance (worth $25 million) for his actions.

Mann and his companions used a petition to attempt to convince authorities that his campaign should be allowed to continue without the insurance. His petition reached 10,000 signatures and the rest is history…

This true spirit of humanity’s campaign was so awe inspiring that it spreaded globally.

Herein, I send my virtual ‘HUGS’ to yOu!

Greatest Father of the Century

Inspirational Videos June 6th, 2007

Maybe because of the popularity of youtube, I always have this impression that the founders of youtube (Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim, former employees of paypal) are the first to start video online.

In any case, thanks to their marketing efforts, I do use video frequently. So much so that I have decided to keep a collections of videos that are inspiring.

One of my favourites is “Team Hoyt” where a father’s love for his son is so GREAT that he took MASSIVE ACTIONS to fulfil his son’s dream. Regardless of the number of time I re-watch this clip, I’m always on the verge of tears.

Now, your turn to ENJOY and get INSPIRED!
