Google Adsense

Internet Marketing June 19th, 2007

I started building this site from scratch on 2/6/07 and applied the very basic and simple tools that Alvin has taught us -

1. blog something personal

2. use server based wordpress

And from Alexa ranking of 1.2 millions, my site rocketed very fast that by the second week of June; I realized that my ranking rose to 900 thousands and the next moment it jumped again to 700 thousands. I got excited and realized that mostly, it was because of the videos I have uploaded.

All the rise in the rankings happen in a mere 2 weeks of blogging! WOW! If I really adopt all the strategies on what Alvin has taught us, in no time; my blog will definitely generate traffic.

Motivated, I decided to submit for Google Adsense on 17/6/07 which simply means asking google to advertise on my blog. Nevertheless, according to Ewen Chia, the Affiliate Internet Marketing Guru; Google Adsense should be taken as only a side income.

This is so to avoid being over-dependent on Google which the latter is beyond our control. In the interim, shall sit back and await for Google Adsense response.

Connie Talbot

Inspirational Videos June 19th, 2007

This little girl has such a wonderful gift of being able to sing so beautifully that I was moved to tears.

Connie Talbot is a six year old singer from Streetly, Walsall, England. She started singing aged 18 months.

She reached the grand final of television reality show Britian’s Got Talent, singing The Wizard of Oz’s SomeWhere Over The Rainbow, both during both the audition and final stages. “I will win Britain’s Got Talent in memory of my Nan”, she vowed. Connie had viewers in tears as she sang the song she learnt at her granny’s knee.

The lyrics is very simple but when sang by her, it is very heart warming. To me, Connie’s melodic voice has that impact on believing in myself to reach the other end of my rainbow.Let Connie’s soothing voice inspire you to reach your dreams.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There’s a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true

Some day I’ll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That’s where you’ll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can’t I?
Some day I’ll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That’s where you’ll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can’t I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can’t I?

Michelangelo

Inspirational Stories June 18th, 2007

Michelangelo’s career as a sculptor and painter wasn’t handed to him on a silver platter. Although he possessed great talents, his accomplishments and fame came only after he invested himself to the point of physical exhaustion. Michelangelo spent years lying flat on his back on a scaffold painting the fresco in the Sistine Chapel. By the time he completed this magnificent project, he was virtually blind from the paint that had dripped in his eyes. Now that’s commitment! Because Michelangelo was willing to invest himself, he created art that had been admired for more than four centuries.

Mastermind Group Part I

Internet Marketing June 17th, 2007

It is getting more and more exciting.
Since it is crucial to have a mastermind group, we have a few groupings formed to help alleviate our learning curve to succeed online.

One of the groups is our exisiting batch of peers who undergo the same training under Alvin Phang. We have agreed upon to set up one common blog for the sole purpose of maximizing, applying and reinforcing on the strategies that Alvin has taught us.

The other group is for the purpose of leveraging on each other strengths. Both Jasmond and myself will position ourselves as the infrastructure support whilst Mary and Jeanette would provide their resources on their existing expertise such that we can have content rich blogs as fast as possible.

Faith

Inspirational Videos June 13th, 2007

One of the speakers, Andrew Matthew from NAC 2007 mentioned about Faith, a dog with no front legs and walked like a human.

Curiousity got the better out of me, I explored youtube and found this video clip which I thought was inspiring and worth to be under my collections of inspirational videos.

For years and centuries, we have heard, read and documented man’s capabilities to overcome all odds. Now, even a dog (which we human tend to presume that animals are more inferior than us) has proved its superiority.

It dawned on me the word - IMPOSSIBLE could have all the while been mis-interpreted but actually meant I M POSSIBLE.

Free Hugs

Inspirational Videos June 10th, 2007

Free hugs is a real life controversial story of Juan Mann; a man whose sole mission is to reach out and hug a stranger to brighten up one’s life. The video was recorded in Sydney.

The music for the video is composed by Sick Puppies, an Australian band that Mann met. The lead singer of the band, Moore, who worked at the mall, shot the footage and later compiled into a video for the song.

In finding out that Mann’s grandmother had just passed away, he compiled his Free Hugs video footage into a get-well, spirit lifting offering. He combined the footage with his band’s song “All the Same” and sent the video to Mann just to make him feel better, much like Mann’s intention with his Free Hugs campaign.

As this symbol of human hope spread across the city, police and officials tried to bann the Free Hugs campaign because Mann had not obtained public liability insurance (worth $25 million) for his actions.

Mann and his companions used a petition to attempt to convince authorities that his campaign should be allowed to continue without the insurance. His petition reached 10,000 signatures and the rest is history…

This true spirit of humanity’s campaign was so awe inspiring that it spreaded globally.

Herein, I send my virtual ‘HUGS’ to yOu!

Greatest Father of the Century

Inspirational Videos June 6th, 2007

Maybe because of the popularity of youtube, I always have this impression that the founders of youtube (Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim, former employees of paypal) are the first to start video online.

In any case, thanks to their marketing efforts, I do use video frequently. So much so that I have decided to keep a collections of videos that are inspiring.

One of my favourites is “Team Hoyt” where a father’s love for his son is so GREAT that he took MASSIVE ACTIONS to fulfil his son’s dream. Regardless of the number of time I re-watch this clip, I’m always on the verge of tears.

Now, your turn to ENJOY and get INSPIRED!
